Alumina Balls

Alumina balls ingredient is Al₂O₃, mainly consists of aluminium oxide. The exterior  is spherical, the surface is smooth, the texture is uniform, and the product is generally white or greyish-white.

The alumina balls we produce are made of high quality raw materials and are processed with advanced technology. The main component aluminium oxide has several different crystalline forms. The different crystalline structure endows different property to the balls and makes them applicable to various requirements of different complicated industrial processes

High Specific Surface Area and Adsorption Capacity: Possessing a substantial specific surface area, it provides numerous adsorption sites and exhibits excellent adsorption properties for certain substances. During the adsorption process, its surface active sites interact with the adsorbed material, thereby achieving the adsorption effect.

Production Process

1. Raw Material Selection: We strictly use high purity alumina powder as the raw material, the alumina content is more than 92%, so that the whole product has been "clean skin". And the rest raw materials are all high quality bauxite ore, after several high grade filtration to absorption process to remove impurities, so as to prepare for the production of high quality alumina balls.

2. Forming Process: Titration forming process is used. Aluminium oxide sol is injected into a curing solution through a particular droplet system. When the surface tension is released, the aluminium oxide sol is drawn into a spherical sol particle. During this process, the droplet rate and diameter are controlled for obtaining uniformly sized spheres.

3. Sintering Process:The formed Alumina balls are sintered in the furnace at 1200 – 1600°C. Staged heating process is adopted to facilitate the crystalline transformation for increasing the density of formed balls. The hardness, wear resistance and mechanical strength of sintered balls are greatly improved.

4. Quality Inspection: Complete quality control procedure is implemented. Strict inspection is performed on all the links from incoming materials to the output of the finished goods. Inspection indexes cover Alumina content, hardness, density, compressive strength and sphericity.

Fields of Application

1. Grinding and Polishing: Extensively used as an abrasive material in ceramics, glass, coating, electronics etc.

2. Catalyst Support: For petrochemical hydrogenation reactions, catalyst on alumina balls support the reaction process greatly, and the reaction process become more efficiently and selectivity.

3. Adsorption Agent: It is widely used in environmental protection for water treatment and waste gas treatment. Absorb fluoride ion, heavy metal ion in water, and harmful gas in exhaust stream to protect the environment.

4. High-temperature Refractory Material: According to its excellent resistance to high temperature, it is widely used in high temperature furnace and kiln for lining, refractory brick etc. can resist the thermal erosion, prolong the life of furnace and kiln, and is essential in high temperature industry for steel and metallurgy.
